icon_tangle.gifThe Electronic Frontier Foundation takes on Viacom.

Senator Barbara Boxer sends Senator James “Crazy Jim” Inhofe to time out.

More on that whole apologizing for slavery thing.

For the record, I did not send this to PostSecret. Did you?

University of Nebraska tells the RIAA to piss off.

This almost restores my faith in the FCC.

So much for giving Kroger the benefit of the doubt.

Re: Kroger. Just called the Kroger at North Decatur and DeKalb Industrial, and they tell me they carry and have in stock Plan B.

From Jeff Jarvis at PrezVid, looks like Rudy Giuliani's MySpace page is friends-only. Worst internet campaign strategy ever!

Kroger is still unionized so they are OK in my book.

Yeah but they need to stop putting in those stupid self-checkouts that rarely work correctly and take away workers' jobs. I'm partial, I like talking to and seeing my checkout person.

If I have more than allowed in the self checkout I put something back.

I simply don't understand why this is even an issue - if a goddamned asshole doesn't want to do their job, they need to be fired. This mean you you stupid holier than thou jackass "pharmacists" at Kroger. If you don't want to dispense a medication that doesn't even require a prescription, then I suggest you find another line of work.

Idiots.

Mel - Any chance we can bring back the old-style "recent comments" bar? This one makes it difficult to follow the thread conversations.

I agree, but the old style "recent comments" might be what was causing the server error. I'm still trying to track it down, and will revert to the other style if I can.

Has anyone gotten the error today?

I love the self-checkout - I use it as an opportunity to learn Spanish.

Paula - is your FCC love in regards to net neutrality or the cell phone thing?

I just want to publicize that Smitty is offering a 75 point bounty on Donkey to anyone with an old croquette set to donate to a good cause. That's huge!

MOTS - great idea - learning Spanish at the checkout. I'm going to try that next time I have few enough for the self-checkout.

I always prefer the self-checkout, but less frequent trips to the grocer win out over fewer items and hence ability to use the self check-out.

Tim, you must go to some otherwordly Kroger. Inevitably, the cashier I get is either a) on the cell phone; b) chatting non-stop with another cashier or bagger; or c) much to surly to want to talk to me. There are exceptions - but not too often.

1. i find the effing self-checkout always takes more time than it saves.

2. i am both pro-net neutrality, and anti-cell phones on planes.

I asked Hank Johnson for his position on Net Neutrality a couple of weeks ago. I asked for his short answer..Yes or No. He said "Yes, of course I support everyone having equal access."

Ha! Hank Johnson is hilarious for a Buddhist. Most are so dry..."Everything in life is painful. There is no way to avoid pain. Nothing in life is ever good enough and what is good does not last forever"

They also say "thank god its Friday" a lot, but I am not sure that is actually a precept or just a result of the small sample size I'm using.

I am defiantly pro self checkout at Kroger. The self checkout at Walmart sucks.

Since we are talking about Kroger let me relate something I saw at Kroger that helped change my mind about the lottery. I was in line at the customer service desk to return something and the person in front of me had food stamps to pay for something. After that transaction the purchased $100 worth of lottery tickets with cash. I have never played the lottery and never will, but I was never against it's legality. I did some research and most of the people using the lottery money for scholarships are middle income people who could probably afford it anyway or have to take out small loans. I think the lottery is a hidden tax on the poor.

mgjr is coming to a sad realization. Cancel or allow?

Whores for billboards
