Five Day Weekend?

So my friend and blogger extraordinaire, Amber, emailed me today asking about this new movement. I had seen the billboard (on Chattahoochee between Howell Mill & Ellsworth) the other day but hadn't taken the initiative to check it out. So, today I did. Turns out they're on a road trip and will be in Atlanta tomorrow from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM.

Now, I'm all for addressing the fact that workers in the USA get (and more to the point, take) too little vacation. Frankly, as a small-business owner, I find it difficult to get away as often as I should. The Five Day Weekend folks claim we forfeit over half a billion (yeah, with a "B") vacation days every year. That sucks. But, five day weekends?

Now, a closer look at their site, leaves me wondering about this movement. Is this a real movement or just a promotional campaign for Asheville, NC? They do have a Petition for Congress. A blog. A swag shop. Lotsa video thingamajigs. But, many of the links, and all of the ads, lead to Asheville vacation promos.

What's up with this?

Well this is weird. Is there a way we can force the Leg into 5 day weekends? Depending on if spending the morning with Wilson wears me out, I might head down and take a few pictures.

Yuppers. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout Mouth.

God. What a fucking bizarre marketing campaign. Is 5 Day Weekend the new lonelygirl15? :P
