Former Dean staffer comments on Obama/MySpace hullabaloo

icon_dean.jpg This story is now a little old, but still thought it worthwhile to post. A former Dean campaign staffer offers a reflection on the whole Obama/MySpace controversy, and in the process mentions Georgia For Dean. Since Georgia for Dean was the genesis of Georgia for Democracy, and how the BfD blog owners met, I thought it appropriate to post:

The question--whether to have none or all control--answered itself. We simply couldn't have a manager/agent relationship and still have all this flowering of intelligent political energy: we chose to be hands off, talking with people but not telling them what to do. As part of this, we had to train the press--when Georgia for Dean sends out a press release, it is not a Howard Dean press release, it is a Georgia for Dean press release. The training of the press took awhile, but they learned.
