    Is anyone else as irritated as I am with the new host of the Slate.com podcast, June Thomas? I feel like I'm listening to some ESL tapes for foreigners on quaaludes and almost couldn't make it through the intro to the Political Gabfest. If I had only one dead fish with which to slap either Thomas or Lois Reitzes, it'd be a tough call.

    I don't know Shelby. For me, it's a tough call between Reitzes and Lemly. I'd probably have to go with Lemly, since he seems to get more air time. However, they both make my skin crawl.

    I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the Democrats I've heard proclaim they like Gravel. I've always taken them for being more aligned with the triangulating mush-mouth say-nothing types that they always end up supposedly holding their noses for.

    I've been happy to discover that I'm wrong. Hope it continues.

    However, I fear that in the end, Gravel won't succeed in pulling Obama (and certainly not Clinton) any further in the proper direction and only lure more folks into supporting one of the two.
