New (interim) DPG website

icon_dems.jpgThe Democratic Party of Georgia has launched an interim website at the same URL: democraticpartyofgeorgia.org.

This is a temporary site, that will allow content to be easily updated, but will only last until a new custom site is built for the party. It takes time to review proposals, award contracts, and design and build a custom, functional, content rich site. Once implemented, I'm in hopes that the new permanent site will be the envy of other state parties, but more than that, will be a useful tool for all of us.

In the meantime, those of us who use and love our Campaign Window sites should add the DPG to our shared calendars. You'll also notice on the sidebar of the site that groups have been started for social networking. If you splash around in: facebook, myspace, party builder or donkey, be sure to join the DPG groups. Look for podcasts and videos in the coming weeks as well.

It will be nice to finally have a link source for some of the great releases the DPG has issued in recent months, but few people were able to read. If you have ideas, tips or suggestions related to DPG communications, the acting Communications Director Martin Matheny wants to hear from you. You can reach him at mmatheny[at]democraticpartyofgeorgia.org or at 404-870-8201. This includes those of you in the press who've been bitching about party communications of late.

Get ready to be communicated with until you're blue in the face.

I don't know why people were bitching more in the last several weeks, as I feel like I've gotten more emails from DPG than ever. Sure, it was still only every 3-4 weeks, but that seemed like an improvement to a General Subscriber Schmuck like me; maybe you post seat holders saw a decline in higher-level commx.

So, only the interim site is a CW site and the final one may be non-CW? Huh; I think the CW looks just fine and, you know, when in Rome....

Now the YDs really gotta jump on the podcastin' lest we be outstripped by the DPG! Nobody outstrips us! We are some serious strippers y'all!

i agree, with shelby, the interim site is pretty cool ;-)

And you know if *I'm* sayin' it....
