Calendar Items for Late June, early July

Here are a few items I've got on my calendar. If you have more, and I know you do, add to the comments. Lots more stuff listed on "The Donkey". Most events are free unless indicated.

5 Days in June 27- July 1 US Social Forum This summer approximately 20,000 people are descending on Atlanta for the US Social Forum.
The US Social Forum provides community-based organizations with an opportunity to create new models for progressive grassroots organizing in the United States.

June 27th, Wednesday 6:00 p.m. Cobb Democrats Monthly Happy Hour
We encourage all Democrats to come to the Marietta Doubletree Hotel off of Windy Hill Road and I-75 to meet our Democratic friends and discuss issues of the day and upcoming political events. This is one of the many perfect opportunities that the CCDC organizes to let you meet and mingle with other Democrats.

Tuesday, July 3, 7:00 pm - Atlanta Stop for the Comma Train!
From June 8 to July 16, the Comma Train will be traveling across the United States to raise awareness about the case on Darfur at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. This is the first time in history that a sitting government (Sudan) will be tried for crimes against humanity. International support for justice in Sudan is growing rapidly, and the interfaith community should provide moral leadership in this critical hour to strengthen hope for justice. On July 3, Timothy Nonn, Coordinator of the International Campaign for Justice in Sudan, will be giving an hour presentation on this effort at 7:00 pm at Central Congregational Church, 2676 Clairmont Road, NE.
