Elizabeth Edwards Recap

icon_daisy.jpgFirst things first. I want to give a huge shout out to Amy Morton for organizing a wonderful event this evening. With very little notice, on a weeknight in Macon, Amy was able to bring together some of the big Ds from around the state to visit with Elizabeth, and in the process, to raise a significant sum for the campaign.

I could go on for paragraphs about Elizabeth, but I'll just say that everything you've heard about this woman is true and more. She is beyond remarkable. The comment was made (I'm sure not for the first time), that she should be running for President.

Next, thank you to David and Tiffany Cusson for opening their lovely home for the event. It was a little out of the way, but beautifully situated on a wooded site at the end of a winding road. Idyllic really.

Finally, thanks to Kristina Simms from the Georgia Federation of Democratic Women Grapevine for the party pics. I did see a professional photographer moving around the event, but don't have those photos yet. Fortunately, Kristina's are already up:

Album One
Album Two
Album Three

See how many familiar faces you can spot, but more about that in the next post.

Update: Amy has posted a more complete recap of the event at Tondee's. Go read: Georgia Embraces Elizabeth.

it was a very good event, a lot of familar as well as many new faces and a very warm crowd.

great job and hats off to Amy & crew for putting this together.

"Double-E" (Elizabeth) is an AMAZING woman, so inspiring, and genuine you can't help but love her instantly.

Last night's event was amazing. Chuck Byrd, Amy, David and Tiffany Cusson, etc.. helped coordinate and create a wonderful event for Democrats.

We were reminded yet again why John Edwards is the candidate we need representing our country. Sure, other Presidential Candidates might visit our state, but they do not understand the rural issues like Senator Edwards and his wife.

Just curious: did EE's visit cause any of you undecideds to jump on the Edwards bandwagon?

Haha someone made a comment of something like "you need to run for office". It was funny but in the same sense quite true.
