It looks like Dr. Knight's campaign has its work cut out for it, especially since the media, in stories about VJ entering the race, keep saying DC is the only announced candidate.

Regardless, all 3 of them face an incredibly uphill battle. All I can say is good luck.

Jules [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ummm disagree Grumpy.. they don't need luck. They NEED to come to their senses and stop running.

VJ, you seriously have to be kidding, especially after that Kudzu performance. Dale.. um no and Rand-nice guy but please run for yout State Senate Seat first.

Dick comes to town and raises in one evening a pile for "Zaxby", more than all our guys..yeah, well we have no Dick.

Jules,

And I disagree that we need to stop encouraging people to run for Senate. Would we like different candidates? Perhaps.

But.. where are they? Not running.

I doubt there's a candidate waiting in the wings to swoop down out the mist and save us all.

So why we don't we try to support the candidates we currently have? (Except Vernon. Heh.) Or at the very least, attempt to not chew them out in the event that they are our only candidates.

indie_rock_elitist [TypeKey Profile Page]:

if these guys stop running then we dont have a candidate...

didnt rand say he was going to have twice the warchest of Saxby? Godspeed my sir. godspeed.

Jules [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I'm totally fine with having no one vs. this crew.

Some how I just can't see anyone at the DSCC taking us seriously, which means, no high profile fundraisers, huge drag on the limited resources, no help for our down ticket candidates, national potential butt of jokes.. yeah so not wishing that on ourselves..

Who are you kidding we'll have like 9 people running before this whole thing is over. Geeze we've got at least 4 going to wake up the week of qualifying and want to run.

indie_rock_elitist [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yea but thats kind of a reflection on our bench. we dont have one anymore, we have to deal with it.

and you can say that you dont want anyone to run, im kind of not impressed with any of the candidates (i still have hope for Dale if Roy was behind him though) but suppose you get your wish and saxby is found with a serious skeleton in his closet, then what?

Its better to have a candidate (even if they are a nobody) than to have no one running.

think of this though, the DNC and DSCC and DCC and DGA etc know that we are on the ropes. what does that say to them if we dont have a candidate for Senator? Sure they might not take this crop seriously but itll take much more tfor them to take us seriously at all if we dont have someone running.

"Its better to have a candidate (even if they are a nobody) than to have no one running."

Agreed. In order to win, you have to show up (even if it's with your third string).
