It seems that kids in the UK (and maybe here as well) are rediscovering the joy of vinyl records - CD sales continue to plunge, while vinyl is marching along. It's kind of like how voters are forsaking the soulless, mass-produced-and-marketed crappy made-in-China BS Republican politics for those good old Democratic American values that daddy and granddaddy grew up with. Democrats are keepin' it real.

Not a good analogy, especially since most pop and rock is made by Democrats. A better case could be made that the people are rejecting the Democrat's "mass-produced-and-marketed crappy made-in-China BS." Remember the Democrat's Congress has a lower approval rating than Bush and the War In Iraq.

If you're going to make comments like: "Remember the Democrat's Congress has a lower approval rating than Bush and the War In Iraq." please provides links to some (i.e. more than one) legitimate poll numbers.

Oh come on Buzz, that same poll shows voters prefer a Democratic to Republican controlled Congress something like 55-39. If anything, anger at Congress is being driven by the fact that they haven't made enough progress on ending Bush's war, which a huge majority of the population wants the direction changed if not the whole thing ended.

Wait until they have to move one time, and shlep all those records up 3 flights of stairs. And they don't fit into very many "shelving systems" either. So you are permanently anchored to cinder blocks and 1x12 boards. And no dancing to the music unless you are on concrete! That's why I never learned to dance. Always had bouncy floors and my 8 track tapes kept getting stolen.
Anyway, I believe this is an indicator that we are nearing the end of hip-hop, or whoever has been using turntables to make "music" lately. Sounds like there are a bunch of used turntables available and perhaps excess manufacturing capacity, and somebody is trying to prop up the market. Much like the end of the civil war, when everybody had a gun and gun manufacturers were fighting hard to keep their wartime manufacturing production levels cranked up.
I'm glad though. I might have to put some stuff up on eBay. Anybody want to buy a Buddy Holly picture disc?
