GADCC Shines Bright in Macon!

Democrats Gather to Honor Calvin Smyre.

The Georgia Association of Democratic County Chairs gathered last evening to recognize the many contributions of Representative Calvin Smyre (D-Columbus) and to award Mr Smyre the Richard B Russell Public Service Award.

The GADCC is a terrific organization dedicated to support and growth of Georgia Democratic County Parties. GADCC President, Mike Berlon, announced yesterday that their support now includes providing a website to each and every county party that would like one. Through a partnership with CampaignWindow (a Georgia-based business) all county parties are offered a fully-functional website that includes tools for email, blogging, calendars and other communication needs.

Nice work, GADCC. The future is bright for Georgia Democratic County Parties!

I thought the GADCC dinner went well and had a good time.

One thing I did not like though was some people from one of the US Senate campaigns taking the campaign materials of another candidate and throwing them in the trash. Very low class.

who did that against which campaing?

I'd rather not say what campaigns were involved because I hope that the literature thieves' actions would not have been sanctioned by their candidate, but just some overzealousness on their part.

Though, given this particular candidate, I am left wanting to say that the apple did not fall too far from the tree.

GBC, your hint still has me befuddled b/c AFAIK the 2 candidates that were there don't have parents in involved in GA politics?

I think what they were trying to say was that the overzealous volunteer didn't fall to far from the "tree" wherein the "tree" is the candidate.

ah, makes sense.

yeah - so i dont really know what you all are talking about (not one for vague references) but i thought it was pretty lame that someone put a vernon jones sign over the GADCC sign that detailed the programming for the day as well as the locations for all of the events of the day....because you know, THAT kind of information isnt useful at all

I didn't check....did Vernon finally get UNION printed signs? I know at the Buttimer Dinner in Savannah, he did not, and it was definitely noticed.

No they were not Union printed.

would i be correct in guessing the candidates initials had a j and a v?
