See Melanie's post about Maggie's untimely departure from the ACLU of Georgia due to some internal organizational issues. Maggie was a friend to the Young Democrats of Atlanta as well as numerous other groups lobbying at the state capitol, as you can see from the below video where I, Atlanta Young Democrats president Emily Schunior, and a couple other devotees gathered back in February with some Emory (I think) medical students for a stellar training on exactly what to expect across the street at the state capitol:
Maggie was a tremendous asset in the fight against idiots under the gold dome, and it's quite frankly ridiculous that we are now wishing her luck in a new job in D.C. rather than cheering on her efforts in this state. I don't know how many more debacles and bungles we need to experience before we learn not to alienate invaluable individuals like Maggie, but I do expect a few more next year in her absence.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!
What?!?!
If anyone needed someone like Maggie to help us deal with the retardation that festers and multiplies here, it was us. Good luck to her and hope she finds some new ass to kick.
Jersey Girls RULE!
I can't believe we lost Maggie. I considered her to be a friend under the Gold Dome when I needed one. She always knew what was going on and who needed to be called out. Next session without Maggie is going to be a very sad one indeed.
Here is someone else who will miss the attorneys at the Atlanta ACLU!
