OK. I'm all for criminals who serve their time getting the rights restored and having the opportunity to re-enter society to become employed, law-abiding, tax paying, yard-mowing, movie-going citizens.

But, HELLO? Playing football is not a RIGHT. The NFL is a very exclusive club and dog-killers shouldn't be allowed. Hell, if MLB wouldn't let Pete Rose play, surely Vick shouldn't be able to play.

As a dog lover, I can't even wrap my mind around this. Even if he were allowed to play football again, he'd be booed off the field. And rightly so.

They quickly reversed field from the earlier "wait until he is tried in a court of law, rather than a court of public opinion." Now it's, just because he is pleading guilty, does not mean he really is guilty.

Wait till Virginia charges him with dogfighting too and he pleads to that. Also, that North Georgia county where the fight was held might be able to charge him too, we will see.

Michael Vick career is over in a nutshell and for what I ask you? He can not go to rehab for dogfighting. This is something that I can't wrap my mind around either. Even he gets out of prison name one team owner who would want to touch him. He is now a PR nightmare! Michael Vick deserves whatever Judge Hudson will hand down to him.

I doubt he gets to play again at the NFL level, but my guess is that the NFL is more concerned about the gambling aspect of this than the cruelty.

I love dogs. Cats not so much.

Humans do make mistakes and after an accounting some forgiveness is in order. I think that was the main point of what Dr. White was saying.

Dr. White is also correct in saying that overcharging by prosecutors can frighten defendants into pleading. The evidence against Vick mainly consists of the testimonies of three ‘associates’ who are getting reduced sentences to testify against Vick and of course the story has to be juicy.

Besides, Vick is going to serve a LOT MORE time than Mary Winkler who shot her husband in the back while he was sleeping. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Winkler.

Pete Rose needs love too. Involvement with gambling erased his career also.
