We're eating the oceans empty.
Larry Craig dials a wrong number, may not resign after all.
We’re safe from an alien invasion for now.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld immortalized as slime-mold beetles.
Get ready for more Republican same-sex scandals.
An historical marker with a message.

Another, "Hmmm, wait a moment" piece from NYT:

Again, I think every hypocritical Republican that demands to control our personal lives should be sent to the foulest of their psychotic institutions to be forever mentally broken. Every time they are exposed to a tenth of the damage they do, my dark soul is warmed just a little.
But, why are cops checking all this out in the first place again? Are vice police really a good thing?
Question... is there a good reason Dems should be chatting about Sen. Craig while he squabbles with his own party?
I so no, it's not our business till he decides to run, then the gloves come off. Till then I say, we have our own house to get in order.
Good read odin. How perfect the phrase, "the breastplate of righteousness".
Ah, schadenfreude?
Other than that, I don't know. But it's a nice rest from having to point out the callowness of Blue Dogs and the inability of Pelosi and Reid to mount any effective resistance to a universally hated President.
No, Shakespearean. And he's hired Michael Vick's attorney, so there's the "local" angle. He'll be the gift that keeps on giving this year.
I agree there is no good reason for us to care, except to point out the stupidity of the charge and the true unstated reason the Repubs are pushing him out--because they're freaking out over finding another closeted gay man in their stable of elected officials.
Like Mel said, the tragi-comic human elements of the Craig saga make this a universally interesting tale of Shakespearean proportions.
Also, I say whatever keeps this story alive until election day can only be good for Democrats.
Also, ditto for the Vitter business.
Just found out my kid has two toys for that lead toy recall. How does this happen? Freaking lead in kids toys? Why isn't China f-ing cut off, at least for toy production, dog foo, toothpaste, etc.? Why hasn't any elected official nationally from either party made this an issue, a common sense argument for making some changes right now.
I'm admittedly not the sharpest guy in the room. Someone please make sense of it for me.
I dunno, seems like a winner to me. I mean you get to the play the xenophobia, economic populist, "think of the children," and common sense cards *all at once.*
How often do you get to do that? I think the theory of politicians behaving rationally to maximize votes is totally shot to hell. We've got to think of what else they must be chasing.
Is the US economy so entirely dependent on China we can piss them off? I'm guessing it is. That, and Wal-mart prostitutes for China.
Eww, I got this in my email. 500 to attend, 2000 to host? For a State Senate seat, someone has that much money to throw around for a state senator?

Trackboy.. in a word, yes we are China's "bitches"
They own our debit and market share for most things we've all determined we can't live without i.e. everything kid, all small electronics, christmas, 80% clothing, hair care products( brushes & combs), shoes, sneakers, army boots, body bags (yup-that's right) car parts, and cars, window treatments, bedding, tablecloths, pens, binder clips, books, luggage, purses...
If you start looking you will be shocked.
Nevermind, my bad. Thought Doug Stoner was a Republican. I got him mixed up with Doug Holt, or "Doug Dolt" as Ruby Duby refers to him. I think he was the guy who wrote the bible studies bill which was nixed for an even better one if I remember right.
Bezerko,
And they tell you what to wear... Not likely I'll be showing up with in pumps with a $500 check.
Like anyone showing up with $500.00, needs to be told what to wear. I wouldn't care if you were wearing a paperbag, if you gave me $500. smackers.
