Guess everyone's preoccupied with the Annie Lennox concert.

This is off the points above, but my personal hero Bill Shipp has another good column about how Perdue's gotten off scott-free on his corruption, and asking whether the Rove-controlled Justice Department is the reason.

You can laugh all you want at Fred Thompson going after moonshiners, but I think folks of all political persuasions can thank him for ridding the Citizen's Band of the scourge that was "Daddy Jim" Gipson and his "habit of saying obscene things over a CB radio while drunk."

I have to admit, I like Huckabee. Sure there are some issue differences, but I like his honesty. The guy really seems sincere and appears to have a grasp on the issues unlike many of the candidates running. He's a little too far right on some issues, but I'm a big fan of populists.
If he got the nomination I would have a really hard time voting for either Clinton or Obama. Now, if it's Edwards vs Huckabee then obviously I'll be backing Edwards :)

Oh sure, Huckabee's great. That is if you are not:
-a woman
-gay
-non-white
-don't believe the country should be run according to an unprovable "revealed truth"
-in the military
-make less than $200,000 a year
What slivers of differences I may wedge open between the Dem candidates, I retain a very, very special place in hell for people like Huckabee and Brownback. Knuckle-draggers like them will haul our country backwards in time. Rather than the beacon of the world, we'll just continue to head towards become its laughing stock.
If even Hillary was the candidate, I'd look forward to a good Huckabee pegging. On live TV no less.

I have to say, I've been really shocked that the fundies never did drool over the huckster? I mean why old hounddog grandpa Fred for pete's sake and not the loveable Gov? Weird weird weird.
Personally I'd have thought he'd be doing better. I have a black, gay friend from AR who loved the guy, no seriously..

Hmmm, I really should have checked those bullets for consistency. Oh, well.
Anyways, I look forward to the day when Dobson et al. have to decide that they are going to lick Rudy's boots or go off on their own third party crusade.
Both possibilities are equally delicious, but I'd prefer the 3rd party because it would almost guarantee Republican failure in this round and a series of repercussions that would probably make the Nader hard feelings look like middle school drama in comparison.
