With Trippi's Rise, Some See a New John Edwards, from WaPo:
"Trippi has made him more aggressive and tuned him in to the anger and passion of the Net roots," said Carter Eskew, a senior Democratic strategist not affiliated with any 2008 campaign. While Trippi was described as a senior adviser when he joined the Edwards campaign in mid-April, he has become much more in the intervening six months: the de facto campaign manager, lead media consultant and -- perhaps most important -- trusted confidante of Elizabeth Edwards, whose influence in the campaign far exceeds that of the conventional candidate's wife.
So much for that box Elizabeth promised me he was in.

Dammit. Did anyone see him on Bill Mahr? He was terrible. It was embarrassing.
Coincidence?
Iowa August:
John Edwards 23%
Barack Obama 22%
Hillary Clinton 21%
Bill Richardson 14%
Iowa October:
Hillary Clinton 28%
Barack Obama 23%
John Edwards 20%
Bill Richardson 9%
He didn't hit it out of the park, but I wouldn't call it embarrassing. There was a pretty major goof on the "why should poor people care about the environment?" I will admit.
Rather than go off on the Space Race (which is an era I love), he should have gone with the answer that Green Collar is the next generation of manufacturing (read: non-college degree good work) that can be an engine for good work.
I can also speak about the company one keeps. The article shows that Edwards has Dean's old advisor, along with a staunch enemy of Wal-Mart at the top of his advisor's list. I'll leave other candidates' advisers as an exercise to the reader.

Embarrassing might be strong, but he looked tired and without depth (shallow didn't seem appropriate).
Edwards must do something soon. Maybe he can invite the area poor to his house for Thanksgiving or something.
I really believe Edwards would be the most difficult Democratic nominee to beat, and I like him personally, what he stands for, and I know what economic interests he will be loyal to and those he will ignore. That said, if he does not get back to what he was doing before, he is sunk.
Jim Andrews, your phone is ringing, try not to yell if its John Edwards calling.
He could turn the recreational building into a homeless shelter.
Did the Trippi Effect affect the grammar check?
I actually rather hope Pony Man embarrasses himself so that Trippi never gets hired for anything again. Wait, it doesn't matter, a huge f***up is practically a resume bullet point in Democratic consulting these days...
Because Trippi's previous clients have bothered you or because you think he's ruined a parade of worthwhile candidates?
Ted Kennedy for Pres, Walter Mondale for Pres, Gephardt for Pres, Howard Dean for Pres, Bob Casey for Gov., Barbara Mikulski for Senate... ?
i think trippi has elected some good candidates before and that can't be forgotten...
that doesn't mean i think he is golden hell if i were running for potus i wouldn't hire him. there are several consultants though im like, wtf why are they working again?
my dad was saying when he was working for the FL party back in the day, he did a lot campaigning and in the governor's mansion that was really successful and revolutionary, but one instance of being with a bad team and he was gone.
I think the question may be:
Was Trippi on staff when a good candidate got elected? Or
Did Trippi help elect a good candidate?
Just because he was on staff does not mean that he "elected" said good candidate. Sometimes we're just lucky enough to be associated with something positive (or negative) by no effort (or fault) of our own.
I answer phones all day long, taking orders for stuff. When I get the call for the "big order" - even though it may fall into my sales numbers, it doesn't mean that I "sold it". I just answered the phone.
If I'm not mistaken, he's had some success up to statewide level, but never on a national campaign.
