Here's what I find so fascinating in the entire Bernie Kerik corruption scandal is Rudy Giuliani's remark:

Giuliani, who has been dogged by Kerik's expanding legal problems, said Thursday that he made a "mistake" in not investigating Kerik's background.

OK How does one not a vet a guy being appointed to serve as Prison Commissioner for the entire City of New York ? I mean it's not like Kerik was getting appointed as Library Commissioner. We are talking about the Prison system - you know the place where bad people live - so it never dawned on Rudy G. to make sure he wasn't appointing a corrupt person to look over the bad people. Nah, that piece of common sense never dawned on Rudy G.

Of course Rudy continued to make more "mistakes" by appointing Kerik NYC's Police Commissioner. Yet again it never dawned on Rudy G. to seriously vet this guy.

Seems Kerik still likes his buddy Rudy so much so that he includes his photo on his Legal Defense website - yes, Kerik has setup a legal defense trust to raise money for his defense against the US government (kind of ironic, eh?)

I think it's hilarious to know that the Republicans top choice for POTUS is even dumber than their current sitting chimp.
