Vernon Jones doesn’t know the US Constitution

As I was fumbling through YouTube, I found this:

The money line from Vernon Jones, US Senate candidate:

I'm not familiar with the Constitution, I'm familar with DeKalb County.

  • This is appalling. How can he be running for the U.S. Senate and not be familiar with the Constitution?

Hey VJ, here's a link - http://www.archives.gov/...ce/charters/constitution.html. It only takes around 20 minutes to read the complete text (and amendments, which are important too). But, if you're too busy, just read Article I. And, if you're really busy, just take a glance at Article I, Section 3.

  • Oh, and don't our party bylaws say that if you support the opposition in the general election you will have you party membership pulled..

Seriously, VJ has publicly supported chimpy.. soooooo shouldn't someone be asking him to run as an independent..

  • Bwahahahaha!

  • Sadly Kimmie, those bylaws only apply to state committee members and officers in the party, not candidates; however there was that motion to kick Zell out of the party and it was sent to the Rules Committee - any word on that from anyone on that committee or with knowledge of it? Maybe it should be brought up at the next state committee meeting, although, then the party would have to actually act on the motions about VJ and Zell and I don't know if we're "ready for that."

  • Well, aren't Dem elected officials considered "ex-officio" members in the party.. they sure act like that at times, especially when it comes to wanting all our names for mailing lists, not paying dues, running for delegate and fundraising.

  • I'm 100% with you! And you're absolutely right, they love being "members" of our party when they need our names, contact info, money and votes. I think it needs to be brought up.

  • John Lewis didn't go to the Republican National Convention and kneecap our Presidential candidate for the year.

  • Cynthia McKinney is running on the Green Party ticket, or at least wants to. The far-left GP will take away votes from our candidate. Do you support removing McKinney from the ticket?

Lewis' advocating of liberal issues has crippled Democrats outside of the metro area, which one could argue as contributing to our now minority status statewide.

    I'm just playing devil's advocate.

  • Yeah, but I'm saying that Miller went and committed out and out treason to the party, so his case is pretty cut and dry. Aiding the enemy is usually a hangin' offense and all.

Well, I support canning Lieberman for going third party after losing his primary, so I'd have to put McKinney in the same boat.

I'm still puzzled as to how one can hate on Lewis, though.

  • Dude, Zig Zag Zell is not only endorsing R's his is holding fundraisers for them.

It is an extreme leap to compare John Lewis' stance on issues with the bird that Zell frequently flips at us Democrats.

And Rural, I'm a Mark Warner, Mudcat Saunders Democrat.

McKinney is a head case, let the Greens have her. She will not have any impact on Democratic vote totals.
