IRAWALPINDI, Pakistan - Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated Thursday in a suicide bombing that also killed at least 20 others at a campaign rally, a party aide and a military official said.

dam this is sad, listening to the BBC world news coverage now
Well, it might put what we currently think of as "politics" in perspective if you mean the endless media horserace extravaganza. But when it comes to the fact that we are about to pick the next leader of the free world and only superpower, this is a tragic reminder that we ought to keep in mind: there will be countless international security crises to come above and beyond getting our ass out of Iraq that will shape the world we leave our kids.
at the risk of sounding like im trying to score some points...adding to what shelby said, there are only two candidates qualified to handle those situations.
