Well, it might put what we currently think of as "politics" in perspective if you mean the endless media horserace extravaganza. But when it comes to the fact that we are about to pick the next leader of the free world and only superpower, this is a tragic reminder that we ought to keep in mind: there will be countless international security crises to come above and beyond getting our ass out of Iraq that will shape the world we leave our kids.
