What's your take?
Did Mitt get beat up? Were Thompson and McCain up past their bedtimes? Are Huck and Edwards buddies? Are you grooving on the format like we are? Anyone else have a huge crush on Charlie Gibson like I do? (I mean, a stopwatch? Really?)
ABC News has all the details.

You can take money from PACs and still make change. If you can't then you aren't ready to be President. Worry less about the quid and more about the pro quo, as my sweetie says...
HRC's attacking is a little too harsh.
Somebody needs to tell Richardson to quit tapping the podium.
HRC just needs to apologize for something. anything.
oh Hillary, your condescension toward Bill Richardson is noticeable even when you don't speak.
Romney got stomped by everyone. It's bad when even Fred Thompson can wake up enough to get a jab in.
Edwards and Obama are teaming up on Clinton. I thought Clinton's response to Edwards and Obama when they were discussing health insurance was really cold hearted.
Forgot to say....
I thought the format was great. I like the laid back, less moderator more candidate interaction type of thing.
Oh, and Richardon's part about being a mediator was classic.
You know who would have done great in this type of atmosphere? Joe Biden.

An open letter to Bill Richardson (written by me of course)...
Dear Gov Richardson,
i know Im totally the most experienced candidate here, but I wish i could have one security clearance, cause you were given several. I wish I had just one diplomatic mission compared to your several dozen (not including time as UN Ambassador). I wish I had as much executive experience as you do. I wish that I was given more than one policy project unlike your long string of them. I wish that I had a political career as long as you.
Then you know, I could really be the most experienced candidate on stage.
And I know you are angling for a VP or cabinet spot in Obama's presidency, but please please please please please ignore the fact I made enemies on this campaign and please please please please please please please remember you served in my husband's administration which means you have to be a friend of mine right...right? I mean, we are cool right? Still BFFs?
Love 'n' stuff...

Open letter to Hon. (Ms.) Hillary Rodham Clinton,
I know that relationships do matter. Just reading policy statements or resumes isn't enough. Who you know, who will work with you, can you give as well as take, that's all part of the process. We don't have to sacrifice ideological purity to get SOMETHING now. I'm a negotiator as much as anything else. I know this. I hope you will forgive me for my temporary indiscretion- like you have forgiven other indiscretions- in agreeing to sort of gang up on you in Iowa. It was nothing personal. My competitive nature got the best of me. My time as Ambassador to the United Nations was the most rewarding and fulfilling time of my life. I would be happy to serve in a similar role in a Clinton-redux administration. You know what I can do, and I won't embarrass you. Barbara would kick my ass, and I know this for a fact and so do you. Let me make this up to you. No more of those menacing glares at me during a debate, and I might be able to help you out on January 19. Whaddaya say?
Peace and love,
Pugsly
I wish Hillary would have outlined what her 35 years of experience were. Wikipedia shows her with a lot of decent foundations and legal work. I think that is legit experience as activism, but saying she has "35 years experience" in the debate context last night seems like late-night comedy fodder about absorbing experience through marriage to Bill.
Obama will often mention his time as a community activist explicitly and Edwards draws upon his trial lawyering when they need to fill out their resumes.
I had better things to do on a saturday night...
I don't think there can be any doubt that Hillary Clinton was pretty engaged as First Lady. Just to hear her talk about issues makes it clear that at the very least she was paying attention to what was going on. Just because some First Ladies don't get involved in the political arena doesn't mean all of them don't. Madeline Albright has confirmed her engagement as has Wesley Clark and others, but what really matters is not what she was specifically involved in, but how has it prepared her for this job, and we can really only learn that by listening to her.
