OK, I know y'all only want to talk about one thing. So get to it.
CNN: Huckabee up, Clinton down heading to Granite State
NYTimes: Obama Takes Iowa in a Big Turnout as Clinton Falters; Huckabee Victor
AJC: Obama and Huckabee face new tests in New Hampshire
BBC News: What Do the Iowa Results Mean?
P.S. Looks like sndeak wins the predictions thread. Nicely done, sir!

Best of luck to all the campaign folks here in GA... sheesh it's going to be freaky! It's all good though...
Heard a rumor about a certain Dem Iowa winner coming to GA soon, can anyone confirm?
Oh, and *snaps* to Benson for whatever his role in the whole CNN politics porthole!
Wow...look at the Youth Vote breakdown (according to entrance polls). Youth vote is up to age 30...
Biden 3%
Clinton 11%
Dodd 2%
Edwards 14%
Gravel 0%
Kucinich 2%
Obama 57%
Richardson 10%
Omigod! I complete forgot about Benson. I hope all went well for him and his projects. It sure looked good from my computer screen.
I bet it was Benson with the pie chart that attacked Anderson Cooper... start that rumor
Missed him live blogging...Shelby and Benson together, now that would be awesome.. Maybe they can work that out for 2-5
the news spin for Hillary is not good from the few sites I looked at this morning.
And before y'all start dissing MSM, remember that's where 90% of GA's primary voters will get their info.
Congrats to the Obama team on their victory. I just hope our party wakes up before it is too late.
Is Obama really coming to GA again? I guess he needs another bus to go to SC.
Congrats to Edwards on a 2nd place finish. The vote in Iowa showcased the strong ABC sentiment in the party. I'm waiting to see the spin that some of her staffers will give on here.
Nice to see Huckabee pick up a victory. At least Iowa Republicans did not fall for the empty suit happy rhetoric that Romney spews. A Huckabee or McCain nomination will be hard for us to defeat, but with the right candidate we could do it. The rest of the GOP slate would be easy to beat for Edwards, and maybe Clinton.
I'm going with Hillary, Edwards, Obama in NH as well as McCain, Romney, Paul.
Too bad about Biden, I really like him. People are always bashing his personality but I like it. His foreign policy experience is a must in any Democratic administration.
With Biden, Dodd, and Gravel out, where do their supporters go?
Comment on the Jimm Wooten blog at the AJC:
"Lol at Dale Cardwell. Democrats are so pathetic.
If Cardwell were a Republican Senate candidate he would have done the stunt right. He could have shown Georgia that we are in a war and judgement matters.
He should have camped out in a Hartsfield-Jackson airport restroom stall wearing nothing but a diaper.
Amateurs."
hee hee!
Now, RD...what will you do if Obama DOES come to GA and actually goes OUTSIDE the ATL metro for an hour or two? :)
Another thing that is interesting in the CNN charts are the number of people who went to the Democratic caucuses but consider themselves Republicans. Democrats did not do the reverse.
Well, it depends.
If he went outside of the metro area and did nothing more than ask Georgians to go to SC for him then, well, my view on him would stay the same.
However, if he travels outside of ATL and at least acts like he wants Georgians voting for him, then I would think less negatively of him.
My guess would be the first scenario though.
I can see it now... "It's great to be down here in Macon. We need you guys to travel to SC this weekend and next weekend. We'll provide the bus, snacks, and other stuff. Fire it up, ready to go! Fire it up, ready to go to SC for me!!!! Oh, I mean Fire it up, ready to go GA!!!"
:)
LOL....RD, you are one unforgiving SOB ;-)
I'm wondering if Obama's message of "unity" and whatnot would stave off a Bloomberg candidacy? It seems that he's preaching what Boren,Nunn, and others have called "a government of national unity".
At least this will be anything but boring.
Youth vote percentages are interesting, but what are the actual numbers? Are the yutes voting in numbers comparable to other age groups?
JT, there's some good numbers over a Youth Voter PAC - http://www.youngvoterpac.org/
Wow, thanks Tim. That is interesting. I thought the statistic you cited meant 57% of youth turnout went to Obama, but it's really 57% of all of Obama's support came from youth.
Also, 22% of caucus goers were young people.
And, 80% of all young caucus goers were at Dem caucuses.
jac,
I just do not like when politicians come to our state and attempt to use us and then expect us to vote for them.
Which, Obama is the only one who has done that, because Hillary has paid staff so obviously she cares about us! Right Bernita? :P
JerryT,
Listening to the news, I thought the same as you about the youth vote for Obama.
Tim,
Thanks for the link, very interesting.
Okay - I know I am about to catch a lot of flack on this comment and it has been a long time since I posted, but here goes:
I am really nervous about Obama's win. I am a black woman and I love Oprah but that Sistah has pretty much dun lost her mind.
Obama is not a rising star- he is a shooting star -
This image he is portraying loud and clear is this:

Edwards will take South Carolina.
Obama's field and fundraising staff have been working with Obama volunteers around the state for months building an infrastructure.
Being right next to an early state in a front loaded primary you'd be nuts not to encourage people to go to SC to help your candidate.
If your volunteers are willing to travel 5 hours on a bus to another state, they will work their butts off when the local offices open. Look for 5-7 new Obama offices to open around the state this month.
sndeak,
As I said, there's nothing wrong with doing that if you also show at least act like you give a damn to the people you're talking to.
Was anyone else there in Atlanta a few months ago? I think I saw Andre there.
After Usher and Dominique Wilkins (my favorite basketball player ever!), Hank Johnson and Sanford Bishop spoke, Obama came out and railed on Bush and then wanted everyone to go to SC for him.
I know an Edwards group is going to SC, I'm sure a Hillary group will or probably has been as well. There's nothing wrong with that unless that's the ONLY reason you come to the state in the first place.
Which hey, if you like feeling used, that's fine with me.
Feel like your'e being used by a political campaign...now that's original : )
HA
You're right. I completely agree now. A candidate comes to Georgia not speaking on any issues related to Georgia and asks us to go to SC for him. It's as if he thinks he's got Georgia on lock.
At least Hillary sent out emails addressing the foreclosure crisis. Obama can't even do that. Who cares if he ignores Georgia, let's support him anyway because he's the hype machine!
I guess I like Obama, not because he comes to Georgia, but because Oprah said so!
Glad we're on the same page now!
News Flash ... That Mike Huckabee is actually starting to grow on me. He has 10 years as a governor under his belt and he works well with Democrats as AK has had a majority of Democrats in the House and Senate.
Three things are stopping "progressives" from supporting Huckabee.
1. The (R) beside his name.
2. His social conservatism
3. His support for the FairTax
Out of those three, I only see one as a problem.
It doesn't matter what anyone says to you. Your mind is made up.
Retail politics in the campaign ends with Iowa and New Hampshire. Everything else is rallys and fundraisers. It's reality.
The fact that someone wrote a subprime piece for Hillary and emailed it to her supports is nice but come on how can you use that as a reason?
I'll tell you what. I'll have someone from the Obama campaign send you an email so you can feel some love.
Umm, Huckabee believes the earth is only 5000 years old. That means he rejects the sciences of anthropology, paleontology, astrophysics, astronomy, genetics, geology generally and plate tectonics specifically, and ice ages, and I'm sure some other stuff too.
Not a good place to be for a world leader.
sndeak,
You completely missed my point. Obama came to Atlanta in September and the biggest thing he talked about was getting volunteers and busing them to South Carolina.
What come to Atlanta in the first place? Hillary's email, as minor as it is, shows that at least she, or someone in her campaign, can address an issue in this state.
The Obama campaign can do nothing but beg people to travel to SC. If he was in touch with Georgia voters, or actually gave a damn about Georgia, then he would have discussed issues related to the state.
Yes, my mind is made up. I'll be voting against Obama. We, as a party, can do better than an empty suit for our Presidential nominee.
Is anyone watching the GOP debate?
Romney is getting creamed. They've all called him on being a flip-flopper. McCain's been getting a few nice jabs in. Hahahahaha this is great.
While I might not be fond of one of our candidates, I can say for sure that Mitt Romney is the worst candidate on either side, by far.
I am
Fred Thompson seems like he's napping and then at the end he suddenly wakes up and responds.
Great show of unity. I really liked that.
That shot of Edwards/Huckabee needs to be on the front page of every newspaper.
Wow.
I turn away for a few minutes tune back in and they show John Edwards' dad's hair and he has the *WORST* toupee I have ever seen.
Kinda ironic, in the Alanis Morrisette way.
