The John Edwards’ campaign is asking for volunteers to show up at the Capitol building this Saturday, January 12, to travel to SC for canvassing. Supporters like you will be meeting at the State Capitol in Atlanta — Washington Street steps — at 8:00 a.m., and then traveling to South Carolina for a day of canvassing and direct voter contact.

If you want to go directly to South Carolina, the meeting place will be at Christian & Davis Attorneys at Law, 1007. E. Washington Street, Greenville, South Carolina. Please be there by 11:00 a.m.

UPDATE: More info and RSVP here.

I’m just passing this request for help along. I will be at the Georgia Progressive Summit.

Thanks for the post. I need to correct one thing-we will be traveling to SC in a cars, not on a bus. We will need the cars for canvassing. There will be people who can offer rides to others, though, so I hope that lots of Edwards supporters will come out to help John in South Carolina! The other details are correct.

I am over in Athens, I won’t go into how long I’ve been on antibiotics, etc., but would love a ride in and back out on Saturday for the Progressive Summit, there are several things I’d like to be a part of… I have been really neglectful by not passing on Write to Vote information and resources, so… Is anyone coming from Athens? And back in Saturday after the last workshops? If not, I do need at least to apologize for the way I let this slip up on me this year and am prepared to send out the link to my list, I know some folks have emailed me to see if I can participate this year, and I’m sorry I’ve been too sick to even predict what kind of shape I’d be in for the weekend.

I can’t stay over, have a sick Grandad, and Dad, and

even a sick cat that needs meds morning and night.

If I can’t get there, I’m truly sorry, and I’ll just promote the Summit to my list in the morning.

The workshops look amazing, and I would love to network w/everyone, so if anyone knows of anyone who has the stamina to drive in and out of Athens on Saturday, please let me know… I can get up early and meet them somewhere.

Otherwize I’ll just send out the link and make my small contribution by reminding people of this wonderful event, and how it’s such a great opportunity to learn from like minded activists.

thanks, and especially for what looks like an even more amazing event than ever. I’m sorry to have been so slack and slow, and will miss everyone.

oh good heavens, sorry for the double post, I can’t figure out how to delete it. Anyway, I’ll send out the link in a couple of hours, I tried a couple of folks I thought would be coming in from Athens, but haven’t heard back. We’ll see if I can get in or not.
