Give me a break. Anderson? Oblander? Surely Red Clay can do better than that.
ok so name someone better than oblander. She has the best rolodex in GA for fundraising, hands down.
Catherine,
I hate to disagree with my Kudzu Vine radio mate, but Jon Anderson KNOWS politics.
His knowledge will make that event better.
We don’t need someone with the biggest (and most expensive, I might add) rolodex – we need folks who can teach candidates how to build their own rolodex.
Mr Anderson may know a lot about politics but his methods leave me cold and disgusted.
Y’all may believe that we should do ANYTHING to get elected. I don’t.
yea im pretty sure obalnder knows how to build a rolodex…just saying, she was able to raise 20 mil and coax money from the south for Kerry (an accomplishment to be sure).
if candidates don’t get elected what’s the point of running? It takes what it takes. I’d rather be in office and achieving our goals than sitting on the sides going well everyone is warm and fuzzy from my campaign.
obviously a simplification and not an exact representation of your views but just my thoughts.
we are such nerds, we give a turd about campaign consultants. Heh.
ok here is what angers me…I go to get a film (Barton Fink btw) for a class, I say its going to be a long night so i stop at McD’s before home to get a cup of joe…this is the dialouge “I’m sorry we are out of coffee, our machine is down. We can make you an iced coffee.” W.T.F.
You are such nerds you know them by name. Are there rosters or programs I can read to know this crap?
Shelby~tons and tons. For starters the DFA Nightschool is a great source-Free but annoying pfd downloads. Amazon has about a 150 good books, the ones written by Ronald A. Faucheux are pretty good overviews.
I think the value of the Red Clay training is a social and supportive one. The networking aspect is important.
However if I recall from 2006, many of the candidates were left quite cold by the fact that their races were not “targeted” and thus had limited access to these folks services if they did want them. It developed into a very us vs them atmosphere that I’m not sure was helpful.
I like how the training is structured with fundraising first, since all the rest of it is about hiring people at top dollar for their serivces. I mean really, polling? I think maybe there are 5 campaigns this year that will be able to afford polling. I love the grassroots part too, um yeah sure I bet that will be emphasized yeah, not. /snark/

Can I pass out CampaignWindow flyers?
Have any of y’all ever attended one of these?
How are they? I’m thinking about signing up.
