The long-awaited list is now out of approved delegates running on the District Level. If you only applied to run on the At-Large level, don't panic as this list is only district-level candidates.
Clinton district-level candidates* my name was inadvertently left off, but I am running
Obama district-level delegates
Man, I used to envy the Obama delegates having more slots, but now, not so much! Check out how many are running in the 5th and a lot of them are elected officials!!
I really want to encourage folks to come out and participate in this caucus! It's an important part of the process. The election is this Saturday, April 19. Visit the DPG website to find out your district caucus location and times. Also, make sure you're caucusing in the right district? Unsure of your district or if your change of address has taken effect yet? Visit the Georgia S.O.S. website to find your Congressional District.

Maybe it's just me, but some of the Obama districts look like they could easily turn into WWF match ups in a heart beat.
Like the women in the 13th, eeew scary and the women of the 4th.
I hope someone live blogs these things, wow.. might make that cheerleader smack down in FLA look small time.

yeah, well, the Obama people kept Rev. Samuel in the running for the 4th, so that race is decided. I don't care if there are 500 candidates...every bus Victory Baptist owns will roll out to let that do-nothing get elected.
There are several people (including myself) who are listed as district candidates when we only applied for At-Large. I've asked the state party for clarification, but nothing yet.

ahhh, I've disappeared from the 5th...correction made :)
Personally, for the female, I'm all about ANGELA TRIGG!!!! Ain't no one I can think of running who deserves to go more than her.
For the men, my heart is with fellow YD, DeAndre. If not him, then my next pick would be anyone who has NEVER been to convention before. These repeat people are greedy. That chaps my butt.

I was kinda surprised to see so many elected officials on the lists.
Maybe the DPG could charge a fee for spectators from outside the 4th, 5th and 13th to come in and watch. They could even sell popcorn.
5th Distict...UGH
83 candidates x 3 minutes per speech = 255 minutes. WOW

Thankfully the caucuses are held simultaneously, so the Hillary one in the 5th will be MUCH shorter than the Obama one.

Wow, there's a MAJOR shock in CD2 for Obama......
Does running as a delegate constitute an endorsement of the candidate?
I knew James was backing Obama, but didn't know Hooks was.

I would hope that everyone who runs as a delegate is fully endorsing that candidate. If there is a fight on the convention floor, every candidate wants their most ardent supporters backing them.

Maybe I should re-phrase, would it be considered an "official endorsement". The reason I say that is Harbison and James (the other two legislators running for the two Obama male delegate spots) are listed on endorsement press releases.
Until now I had heard nothing about Hooks endorsing anyone.

Yes, everyone who files to run as a pledged delegate is publicly endorsing that candidate. RD, does this change your opinion of Hooks, et all now that they are out for Obama?
Jello shots! The thing that made the DPG Chair Elections bearable! Yes, we MUST have jello shots!!! I'm willing to help...

jac1975,
Not at all. Senator Hooks is by far my favorite legislator. You don't find many good Democrats, or politicians in general, like him anymore.
I was just surprised that he is actually endorsing either candidate. He's in a safe seat, and since the district has a huge black population, I'm sure he thinks Obama would help increase turnout.

Inner-Lawdy you might find yourself on the board at DFI... you are correct, although since it hasn't been um er fashionable since the 50's it's kind of tricky to find. Occasionally I see it at Brooks Brothers and Paul Stewart, more rarely Ralph Lipshitz (Lauren) will have a piece or two, usually in the insanely expensive purple label collection.
The easiest substitute is white linen ( after Memorial Day only~please and thank you)
Do we need a DFI update for the late spring candidate crop?

jules: I am just an inner redneck not an inner messiah, but what is DFI? not in style since the 50s? Shit, im bringing the straw hat back. Please believe it.
I think maybe Rural was referencing the saddle shoes, which were Hooks' footwear of choice.

DFI= Democratic Fashion Institute founded in 2004.
I am Chair, and always looking for Board members to assist. So far we only have 3.
We, like the What Not to Wear crew try to improve those who request our services, and have focused mainly on the members of our community most visible such as party leaders and candidates. If I had to fix all the bad choices I'd be dead from exhaustion. Just the hideous shoe choices I see would bring me to my knees.
Quick tip, we call things in the store "fashion" and what you do with it "style" so in the case of seersucker, while not fashionable, if someone wears it, and wears it well we'd say they had a certain "style". When I saw you with your special Sine Die attire, I would call that stylish.

hell to the effing yes. Im stylish...I aint gonna be part of no fashion board however.
You should ask the AP, Alan Powell to sit on there. He has some sagacious advice for your attire, men AND women should wear khaki pants and a white shirt when campaigning and if you have to debate "get you a red tie". Oh and dudes, "don't wear no fruity shirts". However, blazers two sizes too small and shirts just a little bit too big appeared to be OK with him.

I got to know many folks around the state while working so hard for Hillary and since I've received lots of support emails along the lines of "I'd vote for you but I'm in the xth District" I thought I'd post who I endorse for the other slots around the state.
If I left anyone off, let me know...
