Crawford v. Marion County

icon_gavel.jpgIn a 6-3 decision, with Justice Stevens authoring the opinion, SCOTUS has upheld Indiana's Voter ID law.

The Supreme Court on Monday backed Indiana's law requiring voters to show photo identification, despite concerns thousands of elderly, poor and minority voters could be locked out of their right to cast ballots.
SCOTUSblog has all the analysis, plus the opinion in PDF.

I hope everyone sees this post and realizes that if we don't elect a Democrat as POTUS, McSmae will have 2-3 right wing justice appointed for LIFE who will continue on with these right wing rulings at every opportunity they get.

No matter who you think is better HRC of BHO please realize that the lifetime appointment of more Alito and Scalia aks nuckleheads will affect us long after 8 years of McSame.

Agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY to the above.

PaulaG [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Agreed, but feel compelled to point out that Justice Stevens is hardly right-wing.

Mouth of the South [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh. I thought it was in reference to the concurrence.

My fault.
