ATHENS, GA.- The Young Democrats of The University of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County will host a forum for the Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate on Wednesday, April 23 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the North Psychology-Journalism Auditorium on the UGA campus. Confirmed attendees are Josh Lanier, Rand Knight, and Dale Cardwell, and tentative is Jim Martin. Josh Lanier is a retired Vietnam War veteran from Statesboro, Georgia. He has worked in business for several years, and at one time served on the staff of U.S. Senator Herman Talmadge (D-Ga). Rand Knight is an ecologist and businessman from Atlanta. Dale Cardwell is a former investigative reporter for WSB-TV in Atlanta, and currently resides in DeKalb County. Jim Martin is a former state representative and Commissioner of Human Resources, and was the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 2006.
"I think this will be a great opportunity for these candidates to learn about what issues are important to young people," said Andy Lipscomb, political director for the Young Democrats and organizer of the event. "Maybe they can get some new supporters, too."
The event is open to the public. For more information, contact andyl@uga.edu.

Is anyone going to live stream or blog this?
At 3.50 a gallon, I aint driving to Athens..
Does anyone have the actual address of this place? I have a vague idea of where it is.
Well if nobody else responds, the Psychology building, where I believe that auditorium is, is at the corner of Baldwin and Jackson streets, actually on Baldwin. It is a tall, ugly building. If you go down Broad and take a right on Jackson, cross over Baldwin and ignore that Jackson street actually stops at Baldwin, your car will crash into the lobby level. I assume the auditorium is on that floor. Mind the concrete posts.
The debate is in the North PJ Auditorium, not in the Psychology building. The PJ complex is on the corner of Sanford (as in Sanford Stadium) and Baldwin. The PJ Complex has two large buildings at the end and two smaller auditoriums in the middle. It's the auditorium closest to North Campus (downtown).
