Scott Holcomb Pens Op-Ed

icon_pen.jpgTells truth about Saxby

Today the Macon Telegraph features an Op-Ed column from Scott Holcomb and Jeff Schoenberg that shows where Senator Saxby Chambliss' values really fall. Scott and Jeff point out the hypocrisy of Senator Chambliss' claims of "supporting the troops" while taking political cover regarding current legislation regarding the GI Bill. The whole thing is worth the read. Here's an excerpt:

We know politicians play politics. But we must call them out when they cut at the heart of who we are as a people. The way we treat our veterans reflects on the character of our nation. The veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan are a tiny sliver of our population. They have borne disproportionate burdens on behalf of all of us. They are returning with scars, both physical and emotional, they will carry for the remainder of their lives. It is simply wrong to act as if you are doing them justice when, like Chambliss, you are looking the other way.

Thank you Scott & Jeff. Nicely done.
