How often has John McCain been away from the Senate? Well, let's put it this way: At this point, he has missed more votes than even South Dakota Democrat Tim Johnson, who couldn't work for almost a year after suffering a brain hemorrhage in late 2006.

More on McCain's voting record here.

That's one thing that's bothered me about elected officials running for a different office. I don't care if you're a city councilman running for county commissioner or something, you have a duty to fully represent the people that put you in current election position.

I'm sure some of y'all are like me and occasionally log on to the Senate website to look at recent votes. It bothered me to see McCain, Obama, and Clinton (as well as the others during the early stages) missing so many votes.

Sure, McCain is running for President and yeah that takes up a lot of time, but stuff like this just makes these people look like they don't give a dang about the people they supposedly represent.

If you're overseas visiting the troops (ie: Jim Marshall during the farm bill stuff last year when Rick Goddard made that pathetic attempt to say Marshall wasn't involved), sick (Tim Johnson), or visiting constituents from your state who are in D.C. to visit (I'm sure this is frequent), then that's one thing, but to miss multiple votes because you're seeking higher office is unacceptable.

Few things truly irk me in politics, and quite frankly, this is one of them!

I just put out part 1 of a 3 piece series I'm doing on a local, conservative libertarian, ex-Marine, Iraq veteran now aligned with IVAW. He wanted to tell his particular anti-war story as someone who's not affiliated with most of the hippies we tend to hang out with; it's sobering.

Anyone understand what the deal is if Keith Gross gets disqualified or drops out of the race? Will Democrats get to hold a special primary? Can soemone replace him on the ballot?

With all of his residency problems, and now all of the revelations of tax liens and a firearms charge he pled guilty to in Maryland, it might be time for someone to figure that stuff out.

It might be the only chance to take out Mike Jacobs if Keith gets disqualified or steps aside.

Teilhet said that if he is DQed AFTER the primary, the party can replace candidates.

Is there any reason why members of Congress haven't tried something like teleworking - televoting?
