ATLANTA - Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin is sadly lacking in fashion sense, according to the Democratic Fashion Institute, an Atlanta watchdog group which monitors political fashion missteps.
"We are certainly saddened to learn that Ms. Malkin apparently would not know paisley if it were tattoed on her face," said DFI spokeswoman and fashion expert Juliana Illari. Ms. Illari declined to comment on whether such a tattoo might help temper Ms. Malkin's strident, straight-laced political opinions.
The comments came in response to a recent column by Ms. Malkin, in which she claimed that a Dunkin Donuts advertisement featuring Rachel Ray wearing a paisley scarf promoted "murderous Palestinian jihad"; Malkin said that the scarf was in fact a keffiyeh in disguise. The donut chain subsequently discontinued the advertisement after Hamas militants were seen consuming the donuts during a coffee break.
Illari said that the organization was committed to helping Malkin come to terms with her status as a fashion bozo. "We understand that conservatives often have trouble identifying appropriate fashion choices," she said. "Our governor, for example, has been seen in pink suits and continues to exist in a state of denial. We've created a helpful guide for Ms. Malkin that we hope will clarify the issue."

Other commentators were less understanding of Malkin's plight. "Honey, Michelle Malkin is just upset that she wouldn't look good in a keffiyeh unless it were tied really tightly around her neck," said Zach McFall, a local fashion consultant and DFI commentator.
The White House indicated it would formulate a position on the issue, as soon as President Bush could be taught how to pronounce "keffiyeh".

Yeah, still can't comment there...
To answer your question: anything can technically be "chic" if worn with syle and aplomb. So yeah if there are a handful of Jhadi's wearing denim and they can pull if off sylishly sure it could be chic. I do wonder if they wouldn't take the heat for beingin non-traditional garb and all.
Lots of so called "terrorists" are very stylish. I mean who didn't want a snake chair and a leather coat after Huey and Bobby Seal posed in one http://images.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=huey+p+newton&start=20&sa=N, or the Patty Hearst in her trench coat.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad6s0gUgiwc
