Dear Jim: *Please* start breaking in those shoes

This image is straight from the AJC Peachtree slideshow:

I was pretty focused on running, so maybe I just missed the Martin campaign's presence at the race, but for all of Rand's faults, his work ethic ain't one of them. Heck, only Vernon and Rand even bothered to make an effort today (and Congressman Lewis of course, because he's not just in the hizzouse, he BUILT IT), which strikes me as pretty pathetic. Were the Obama people there and I missed it? (I saw several folks with the T-shirts, but no one that looked official). The YD's were not the only group registering voters and working the crowd, so I'm pretty disappointed, again, that some other folks seem to have missed the boat, again.

Jim, I'm begging you, GO TO THE COBB BREAKFAST NEXT SATURDAY. That is all.

Rand was also at the Cobb 4th BBQ...fyi

AA: What you complain about is what happens when a candidate doesn't want to run (as in, he gets dragged into it).

Zaid [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Perhaps Mr. Martin just isn't in it to win it.

BamaDem [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Jim had about ten people at the end of the race holding signs and passing out literature. Rest assured Jim is in it to win it.

Ok this is exactly why Jim Martin should not be in the race - he did not want to run - but the powers that be in the state party convinced him to, espeically sicne he had all that left over debt from other races. Rand Knight is our best bet - he works his tail off for GA right now, imagine what he can accomplish in washington, we just need to give him that chance!

Rand was at the Cobb BBQ Friday after our parade - we had a VERY good turnout for both the parade and the BBQ. Most Cobb candidates were there, along with old money and new money, young dems, past chairs and activists, etc. Had two DNC candidates there - Page Gleason and Carole Dabbs, as well. Dale Caldwell showed up about 30 minutes too late when things were winding down - less than 50 people were left hanging around when he showed up. Rand spoke to the group earlier when things were buzzing good for about 5 minutes and had a lot of folks coming up and talking to him afterwards. It was a REAL good day for Cobb democrats - first having had about 80 or so Democrats in the Marietta parade and then way more than that at the Cobb BBQ afterwards at the Marietta Convention Center. We had everyone from Obama staffers / supporters to multiple cars behind our float, and several local candidates walking and shaking hands all along the parade route...

I'm gonna hazard a guess that Jim's spent the weekend campaigning in the Other Georgia, where I'm sure he connects with folks a lot better than the blow-dried candidate does. And I imagine a lot of those folks are celebrating another July 4th knowing they've got loved ones who have served or are serving in the endless war on which Saxby's only stated opinions are the Bush talking points.

Rand's great at hanging out in metro Atlanta.

Lancellotto -
Get the facts next time. Rand Knight has been traveling the entire state for over a year and outside Atlanta, and all around the state they love him. Just in the last 3 mos has he turned his focus to metro atlanta. Infact Martin is not all around the state this weekend.

Your thoughts on Rand are entertaining but no where near truthful, just like Vernon supporters.

UrbanDem [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Rand Knight is hilarious. I just wish he wore his suspenders more often.

The guy is a total joke, no experience, no "vision" like he claims, and no class.

Martin is almost as bad, he just has no motivation.

The Dem. party really didn't recruit well this cycle.

UrbanDem -

have you ever had a conversation with Rand Knight? Amazing that judgement can be made by someone that doesn't even know Rand or what he is capable of.
