I felt the need...
-Need another reason to vote for Jim Martin? He knew better than to hire some hack.
-Wanna go see George Michael? Take Me Out Tickets appears to still have some tix.
-As if he didn't have anything else to do for the next few months, President Bush and his cronies are messing with contraception.
-If this works, it will be truly awesome.

Yeah, the Andre stuff is pretty terrible. He's such a strange guy in general, so it makes sense that he can be bought for so little.
Speaking of people who're bought, here's another good reason some of you should have dug a little deeper before supporting Keisha Waites.
http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/stories/2008/07/31/school_voucher_group_election.html
According to the AJC, her campaign is almost completely funded by a Republican-voucher organization, "All Children Matter". Regardless of how you feel about vouchers, I know that it's not right for a Republican group with close ties to Bush and McCain to meddle in our party primaries. Especially in an area like district 61, where the last thing we need is a "leader" willing to sell out our children for some yard signs and a mailer.
The founder of this voucher group is the sister of the founder of Blackwater USA. Yes, that Blackwater. The DeVos and Prince families are going to take the billions they've made in no-bid contracts in Iraq and fund candidates so that they can bring they're anti-public school agenda to Georgia.
Keisha Waites ought to give the $33,000 in contributions back to Blackwater. She showed very poor judgment signing on with them and it makes me fearful of the lack of judgment she would show if elected.
So what do we have to do to get the Chinese authorities to block IRE's access to BfD?
Wow! You can get good seats cheaper than the $152 + Ticketmaster fees face.
I'm sure you meant to type unblock, not block JT. We love our IRE.
I thought the Chinese Commies thought BfD was OK? Did they figure out our grassroots progressive nature? :)
Raise your hand if you're shocked by Andre. No one? Says a lot about Vernon that he hired him. Vernon makes my skin crawl.
Did you see the Creative Loafing article linked to above? Apparently CL talked to Andre about contributing to FreshLoaf. I am not sure why you need Andre to repost press releases, the CL staff seemed to a good enough job of that on their own during the 2006 democratic primary. Yeah, I said it.
(that's a friendly jab CL, don't hate.)
I think it's funny that Erick Erickson doesn't know who Decaturguy is :)
Ugh with the whole Andre thing.
I propose a activist death match. I can think of several people I'd like to put in a thunderdome like cage to fight it out.
I'd give good money to see a few match ups. All money going to good causes of course.
As to Saxby, he certainly is on it these days.. I'll give him credit; he knows from which direction the wind blows ( likely al that golf taught him that)
I've gotten a lot less hate from him in my in-box and a whole lot more "we're working together all sing kumbaya"
All Children matter has lots and lots of Dems all over the state in it's employ and taking checks.
We blog about them back in April. I personally think they are a trojan horse.
As to supporting, only legal entities can "support" and endorse. All that we did is post a request for help.
You really need to take up the endorsement process with the groups who did endorsed her like Georgia Equality and others.
Sounds like the other candidates needed to be more present in the viral community if attention was to be paid.
I don't really want to get IRE blocked, I just wonder what it would take. Do you have to type "J-E-S-U-S" a bunch of times? Do we have to talk explicitly about the benefits of free markets? Or do we just have to talk bad about China? Will extended discussion of Tibet get us banned from access through the .ch portal (or however that works)?
China sucks. I hope we beat them in every Olympic sport.
They will beat our ass in public spitting. Sucks that they ruled Mountain Dew was a banned substance or we would wipe the floor with them, which is really disgusting in that event.
JT, I think typing in Falun Gong would do the trick.
And jac, Erick doesn't know who anyone is.
Uh. She said "Falon Gong". Heh.
[Redacted].
Seriously, none of y'all up at 6:40 in the AM to help keep me entertained with all kinds of debate on BforD?
Unacceptable. I got like another three hours of work tonight so let's hope some of you show up.
BTW: I f*cking [redacted] love the Chicoms.
Is the smog cleared up yet?
How's the food?
You can't get a sauce as thick or as sweet over there. The food is like, steamed or something.
JerryT: you established that we can no longer friends. I would like to take this time to officially say our friendship = annulled.
That said, yes. There has been some rain and the Chicoms do a good job of running an [redacted] great, peaceful, and prosperous to benefit all of China's people government.
And the food? You wouldn't believe how [redacted] it is! As MotS said, it's like steamed or some shit. I guess healthy living or some crap. C'est la vie. Its almost happy hour!
Phrases that never enter a Chicom's mind volume 1:
"Don't you think this is draconian?"
"Phrases that never enter a Chicom's mind volume 1:
"Don't you think this is draconian?"
Do you have some possible good critique of the atrocious human rights record of China or will you continue to use dumbass slurs because it's your first trip as a white American over there and you want to show them how ugly you are.
I've been before, and here's a hint, Yosemite Sam, everything you write is being tapped into and recorded.
Zaid.. are you under some impression it's not ike that here? We are one of the most surveiled upon nations in the world. There is a camera on us almost 80% of time we are or in our homes or cars.
"There is a camera on us almost 80% of time we are or in our homes or cars."
I'd like to see some stats or studies to back that up. I can tell you that it's extremely rare to see one of my criminal defendants on tape doing anything. Of course, I suppose it's completely possible that the Feds aren't letting law enforcement in on the super secret videos, etc.
Zaid, I believe IRE has been there before too, and the occasional ":redacted:" that appears in his posts I believe are a comment on the situation.
Now that I pointed it out, he probably WILL get shut down.
Now I'll have to FedEx a different laptop with a new I.P. to him. Or something.
Jen B.
Traffic cameras
ATMS
Banks
Airports
Cabs
Street cameras
Could be the criminals actually know where they are?
You really think we're on camera 80% of the time? In fact, I only know of one traffic / street camera in my area and it's not even on my daily route.
Yes, I really do..
read this article

and I don't think with the Patriot act the folks who are installing these here feel any need to disclose the locations.
Turns out the Chicoms tried to poison me. Or maybe this laowai can't handle the water. Or something.
They tryin' to take me down. Must be my pro-[redacted] Chinese viewpoints.
And anything Zaid has said about me has been wrong. Every time.
Kimmiega,
All your article does is prove that we are not currently under watch 80% of the time, because if we were.. the NY Police Commissioner wouldn't be pushing for 505 cameras.
Not to mention, New York is not America.
Well and I think you are very naive.
How about Google earth? Where you can watch folks on the stip in Vegas?
What about the library book monitoring? Every time you swipe a barcode the information goes somewhere? How hard do you think it would be for some one to connect all the dots on any given day?
Get in my car to drive to work, be photgraphed at 7:05 on 75 and Delk, arrive at work, swipe my card in the door and it opens, go to an atm at lunch, or pay by credit card, eat at the food court in Lennox Mall, be photgraphed in the parking deck, post something on a blog or send an e-mail via facebook.. Use AOL or any other product. Buy something after work at Kroger & use that key fob thing to save 20 cents and your purchase is all recorded. Pick up a perscription and 15 days later get more scare literature about your illness in the mail from the drug store, or have your name added to mailing list or support group for the illness.. Really these things never happen to you!
Sorry, I suppose I just think it's really not that unrealistic to believe it.
Zaid, is it possible for you to ever take a light-hearted look at things? Ever?
Kimmiega,
There is a difference between the government watching you and you choosing to participate in activities which caused you to be watched (i.e., not using cell phone companies that give up their records to the government, paying in cash, not using the Kroger card to save twenty cents).
Sorry, but I don't consider having my photo snapped at the ATM as being surveilled. If I don't like it, I can leave that bank or choose to withdraw all my money at one time and pay cash.
I'm more concerned about government intrusion. And while many would say the 4th Amendment is dead, it's not.
This is why I wear a fake mustache all the time.
This is why I wear a fake mustache all the time.
Even with that laundry list you gave, Kimmiega, you still aren't under surveillance 80% of the time. I know for a fact that 7-8 hours of every day nobody's seeing me sleeping in my bed or doing any of the other things I may happen to do in my house. So that's at least 33% of my time right there that I'm not being surveilled.
I said, once you leave your house. duh
I'm glad you all are so trusting.
Really the 4th ammendment how special cause that must be the one not completely jacked by the current admin and justice dept.
MotS,
Does it look like this when you wear it? Because if so, you aren't fooling anyone!
Dammit!
Where did you say it was only 80% once you leave your house? This is what I saw:
"There is a camera on us almost 80% of time we are or in our homes or cars."
Duh, indeed.
Ok, I'm creating a new law - similar to Godwin's Law - whenever someone responds with "Duh", the argument is over.
sorry must have been typo. meant once you are not in your car or home.
Of course if you are a nanny likely they have the nanny cam on you tho.
Well, I guess I'm not the only one concerned about the electronic snooping.

There are a lot of things to worry about. Stick to those that have some effect. Not the maybe.
Why are you differentiating between corporations and the people on Flickr? Tons of photos of people on there. You think the Lenox Square parking deck people care at all who you are if you do not commit a crime or are involved in a traffic accident? They don't. Those tapes are erased very quickly. The credit card companies? You are choosing for two companies to extend credit to you, the restaurant and the credit card company. In exchange they want to know who you are and have a way to audit the purchase. Is that really so scary?
