Perhaps it's the dampness, fog and too much Starbucks...

icon But geesh they are kind of whacky in Washington State. A two-tiered Primary? Is this like instant runoff voting on crack or what? Interestingly when I went to the WA SOS Site, they had a little video, cool... and I could choose my preferred language on the site as well, lots of choices including Laotian. Obviously I stuck with English as I am barely proficient at it.

Georgia has a hard enough time getting folks registered and to the polls, therefore I pray to all the various deities to spare us this anytime soon. Good grief, this whole thing seems like a nightmare for a field organizer. How on earth do you know the who's who and the what's what? VoteBuilder must have special programs to keep up with this data.

Anyway I'm keeping my eye on the Darcy Burner race today, and the grudge match between Gov. Gregoire and Rossi, that was decided by just 133 votes.

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn i am liking that new banner!

Seems a lot like Louisiana's system - according to the Seattle Times, the only difference is in the partisan races, even if one candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, they still face the second-place candidate in the general election.

Some of it seems silly, but really, less silly than reserving a spot on the general election ballot for a Libertarian candidate who'll be less popular than several losing Democratic candidates.

Yes, in LA they called it the "jungle" primary.. which sounds more like a hot night club than a political event.
