The whole thing took my breath away.

The Angry Black Man not so angry...
This evening I experienced a range of emotions that took my spirit to new heights. Watching THAT man on THIS night gave me a perhaps small indication of what my parents and grandparents must have felt forty-five years ago today- knowing that there is a promise for a better tomorrow, knowing that out there somewhere somebody cares and is helping make the load a little bit lighter. All we've got to do is take heed to the old gospel song "Move on up a little higher." Today I have been blessed with a deeper feeling, a deeper knowing, and a deeper understanding.
I was telling Mijah that it seemed like for the past eighteen months I had been part of some dream. But its real. Its really real.
As expected, the Republican pundits are in shock and absolutely stuck on stupid! (Check out how Larry King wears Ben Stein out.)Poor, poor stuck on stupid Republicans. You know, they say a hurt dog WILL holla. Well after that speech, I doubt we'll get any sleep.
Simply a gorgeous and supremely eloquent speech on too many levels to mention. Truly inspirational and just magnificent. Even the old hoary SOB Pat Buchanan was saying so on MSNBC. Absolutely astonishing. I've never seen him or anyone give such a speech as that. There's simply no one better, and that's why the man won. He clearly deserves all the plaudits anyone has ever showered him with for his oratory. He shared a convention with Bill Clinton, and out shined him rhetorically. That's pretty amazing & deeply meaningful.
And I was glad I was back here watching it all. It was all made for TV, and we certainly caught the excitement. But yeah. Like Wow! I've never seen or heard anything like it. It'll go down as one of the greatest American Political speeches ever. No doubt about it. I'm energized by the prospect of the fall! Cheers & Good Luck, JMP
The more I think about his speech the more I realize, Obama could have done much much better. It is kind of a frightening thought for Republicans because Obama is like Usain Bolt right now. Usain stopped running and still smashed the 100m world record and destroyed the competition. Obama still did a great job but it could have been so much better.
That's about as good as it gets. Our good friends told us last night, they being old enough to remember, that they hadn't seen the party this energized since JFK.
Loved the "...Barney Smith ahead of Smith Barney" line!
I have watched every Dem convention Presidential acceptance speech since Adalai Stevenson (both of them). I even watched Ike give his. Many were good, some were great, but this was one for the ages.
Mere adjectives simply fail to describe it adequately. Awe-inspiring, magnificent, "hit the ball out of the park." Words are inadequate. It reminds me when I visited the Grand Canyon last year. I tried to take photos, but could not capture the majesty of the panoramic view. In this case, words alone fail to capture the sheer magnificence of that nearly sixty minutes of oratory perfection.
Thank you Barack! Yes we can!!!
