icon When the headlines look like this, what else would you call it? The sharks are circling, and if the indications are correct and she isn't doing any press, just reading statements, well then then I don't think the headlines improve.

When Less Is Less

But McCain's speech tonight began slow and got slower

Judging Palin by an Eighth-Grade Standard

People expected her to be a blithering fool and were shocked that she could read a decent speech prepared for her by the McCain campaign. She is being judged by much too low a standard.

US media mixed on McCain speech

"In the end, tonight's speech merely confirmed what many of us knew [all] along: McCain just doesn't have good answers to our troubled economy," says Jonathan Cohn in the New Republic's Plank blog.

Highly Partisan Reception Greets Palin as V.P. Pick

Given the sharp political divisions she inspires, Palin's initial impact on vote preferences and on views of McCain looks like a wash, and, contrary to some prognostication, she does not draw disproportionate support from women.

*the sunshine is the crap only FOX could serve.

On the Advocate website, where they have the article about Log Cabin endorsing McSame... someone calls Palin "Caribou Barbie". I almost peed my pants laughing!

Kind of insulting to Barbie-no?

She's way more the Bratz doll anyways.

Although Caribou Barbie *is* funny, it's not appropriate. Even though Barbie became an astronaut and President, Barbie is still a symbol of an attractive bimbo. And Palin's anything but a bimbo.

538 has a GREAT breakdown on Palin. Double points for using a hockey analogy the entire way. The crux of it - if she had to skate on her own merits, she'd be in the minors. But, she's not her to play hockey - she's here to throw the real talents off their game:
