So yesterday the Lehigh County GOP Chairman Bill Platt used this as his opening statement at the McCain/Palin rally:

"Barack Obama refused to wear an American flag on his lapel," he said of the man who, at the presidential debate the night before, was wearing a flag pin on his lapel. The audience booed. "Barack Obama, a man who wants to be president of the United States of America, removed the American flag from his chest because it was a symbol of patriotism. Perhaps Barack Obama doesn't put country first, but he puts fashion first."

Now my quibble isn't we shouldn't put fashion first, it's that the dumbnutz actually pay attention who got what flag pins on which lapels. Seriously people, how hard is this? This is same rally that McCain called the assembled crowd his fellow prisoners ( how well we all feel that). Oh and Cindylou Hoo offered Senator Obama her Cinderella slippers to take a spin in, which is so ridiculous since unless she's a man's size 13 or something freaky how would that work?

I give this rally a 9.5 on the clusterfu*k scale.

Oh, so back to my point. Here's what I suggest: everyone get our your dialing digits and give this number a call 1- 610-435-3322 (Lehigh GOP HQ) Perhaps mention that they really ought to stop staring at Sarahcuda's mustache on the Newsweek cover and note who had what pins where.

As if patriotism can be found in a "made in China" pin, harrumph.
