Yes we did!
Amazing!
Rubyduby and me have already finished our bottle of California's finest. I got a serious buzz going!
Now, we gotta make this Georgia race get closer!@
How do you like us now world?
It's never felt so good to be an American.
there's a pending comment you should check out Mel,... or whoever's there
I don't see one Bezerko. I did find some payday loan spam caught in moderation though.
I cried multiple times tonight. It's a great night to be an American.
Rubyduby tried to post one!
I feel proud to be an American tonight. Quizzical as a Georgian. Locally, here in Ga. this has been just about the worst showing we've had in my memory. ALL the Polls on the Ga. Senate race were off by an average of about 10Pts. Why? What accounted for this in an historic high turn out election? Locally and for the House seats we got beaten by percentages & averages we've not seen I think ever in here in Ga.
So I'm just frankly mystified. We really need someone to go into the results and try and tease out the stats & make some sense from it all. But I really think we must have been affected by some sort of 'Bradley effect' for many of our down ticket races. Either that, or some substantial number of our voters never got to the down ticket races, and stopped voting after the Presidential line.
I'm overjoyed for & by & with Obama. But I Live here, and we've got to face the consequences of literally the worst wipe out locally I think in living memory. Why did it happen? We need some detailed analysis of this overall situation and Fast. Really! Thinking & Dreaming of a Better Tomorrow, JMP
For some reason, Ruby's login was inactive Bezerko, so I changed it to active.
J.M.,
Look at the numbers now, they appear awfully close to what the polls projected they be.
The difference between Georgia and Pennsylvania is the upper middle class suburbs of Philly trend Democrat whereas Cobb, Gwinett, etc in Georgia trend Republican.
That's really the difference. We need to cut down GOP margins in those areas if we are ever to get to 50%.
And that's another thing, Decaturguy, compare the numbers, we cut deep into their margins in those counties, deep. Looks like it's those really small counties that we didn't make any ground on.
I was just looking at that, actually, Bezerko. Looks like a lot of ground was made up in Cobb and Gwinnett this time. That is great news!
If there is a runoff, the key for Martin is to turn those two counties blue.
Rockdale and Newton counties, whoop!, fliped!
This election goes a long way towards repairing our image at home and abroad. As anecdotal evidence, I have a friend from Bulgaria whose mother told him this morning that she has never heard people so many people (in Bulgaria) speaking so positively about America. Quite a change from the last eight years.
Obama has shown that he can inspire. Now he must show that he can lead.
