You may want to reconsider your position

icon_pie_in_face.jpgGov. Sonny Perdue said Thursday that his bumblings and foulups as Georgia’s chief executive are “the best argument I know of” against the concept of a government-operated healthcare system.

Perdue noted that since he became governor in 2003, his administration has operated the state’s mental health institutions so incompetently that more than a hundred patients under state care have died or committed suicide.

“If people still want to put the government in charge of their healthcare after seeing what a mess I’ve made of it, they’re crazier than I thought,” Perdue said.

“It’s obvious that politicians like me and Barack Obama shouldn’t be allowed within a hundred miles of a doctor’s office,” the governor added.

The Georgia General Assembly passed legislation earlier this year to restructure the state’s Department of Human Resources in the face of mounting criticism of the department’s operations.

“We didn’t know our ass from our elbow when it came to providing effective healthcare,” Perdue said. “Just ask the surviving family members of all those patients who’ve died in state institutions since I was elected.”

“If Obama is put in charge of your healthcare, you are doomed,” Perdue warned. “He’ll appoint bureaucrats who are even dumber than the ones I appointed. If you liked Georgia’s division of mental health and developmental disabilities, you’ll love Obama-care.”

WSB talk show host Neal Boortz applauded Perdue’s comments and said health insurance reform was an obvious ploy by the Obama administration “to open up our borders to hordes of immigrants who are coming here to spread leprosy and establish death panels that will force the euthanization of senior citizens who don’t participate in gay weddings.”
