Look, do we really have to add a “Do Not Accuse Your Opponent of Being Dead When They’re Not” section to Candidate Training 101? Apparently, we do, because, earlier this year, political foes started a (perfectly innocent, well-intended, purely accidental) rumor that Sen. Valencia Seay, who had been ill, had died. Though she is NOT, and never was, dead, the rumor keeps turning up like a bad penny. Not that anyone would intentionally fuel such rumors. Bless their heart.
