More on Rep. Price

BP’s reported willingness to go along with the White House’s new fund suggests that the Obama Administration is hard at work exerting its brand of Chicago-style shakedown politics.”

Representative Tom “Stacheless” Price

Shakedown?  Paying for shit you fuck up is a shakedown?  Jane Kidd’s right, “All Americans should be shocked by a sitting member of Congress that calls restitution for the oil spill a shakedown.”

Rep. Price is having a really bad week… Odd that he’s hasn’t been made to apologize like the other “knucklehead”…

Who is going to administer these claims to the 20 million? does the government have to staff it? Are they who is going to say no? is there an appeals process?

I hope it isn’t the federal government, that will just turn the stories they should be using against BP against themselves.

We’re going to hear this a lot from the GOP. They are going to side with BP and blame the President for this disaster, in the hopes of hanging it around his neck. And of course getting big fat campaign contributions from BP and associated companies.

Of course, the fact that BP agreed to put $20 billion in escrow in just one day tells me that they probably think this is a good deal for them–that in the end, the cost of cleanup, harm to the environment and economies along the coast, the death of wildlife, etc. will far exceed $20 bil. So they may see this as capping their exposure, in a sense. I hope I’m wrong.

Price apparently has yet to outgrow the concept that all must be secondary to cars and gas. A little bit understandable since he is from Detroit.
