Free of Charge and Open to the Public

Those eight words warm the hearts of true politicos. The Barnes campaign wants to invite you – yes, all of you- to three events over the next three days, all free of charge and open to the public. I don’t usually post event announcements for candidates, but in an effort to encourage more this openness, here are the details:

1) One of my favorite moments so far this election cycle was when Roy Barnes walked in, sat down and watched the Republican candidates debate. It was classic. Tomorrow, Barnes is hosting a debate watch party from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. at Steamhouse Lounge in Mid-Town Atlanta. After the Democrats wrap up, Barnes will join the party to laugh watch as the Republicans debate. If you’d like to come, sign up here.

2) The Barnes Election Night Party begin at 6 p.m. at TWELVE, Atlantic Station. For those who have been confined to a soundproof, media-proof room, that’s Tuesday, July 20th. You can sign up here.

3) During the day on Tuesday, Barnes will be flying in and out of six Georgia cities. The details are below the fold, and here.

lol at so much being objectively wrong in this post. lol. Actually re-reading the post every paragraph is wrong either a priori or a posterirori.

Before Barnes decided to run, and since. he has been all over
Georgia talking with small groups of teachers, business
leaders, farmers and others. You don’t know about it
because this listening tour was typically not in the press
I am no Barnes apologist. In 2000-2002, I spent a good
bit of time at the Dome pushing against 1187, the
school reform bill. But, I am voting for him tomorrow
because I know the wagon is over the cliff, and
we need an experienced hand to take the reigns. On
the issue of viability in November, I don’t get the
logic of, “I can’t beat Barnes, but trust me, I can beat
the GOP machine, Palin in tow, in November.

We have a very impressive group of candidates for
Governor. Compared to the Republican group, we
look like the Globe Trotters, and they look like my
jr high team, so I hope that once we have a nominee,
we will all be together, pushing toward Nov.

Good to see that King Roy is finally headed outside the perimeter for events that are “free and open to the public” since nearly all of his previous visits have been about raising money not reaching voters.

Also reassuring to know that he’s gonna start celebrating before the polls close.

Arrogance is so easy for Barnes; much easier than apologies that he can’t even say on camera.

If we are foolish enough to nominate Barnes again, we deserve the Republican Governor we’ll get next year.

Barnes proved in 2002 that he can lose with every advantage ($23 million to Sonny’s $3 million).

If Barnes is our nominee, get used to being in the minority folks. With the Governor’s office and both chambers of the the legislature, the GOP will destroy what’s left of the Democratic Party during redistricting.
