Friday Open Thread: Friends Edition

I’m sure drinking was involved in the conception of this poster.  Clearly, the drunks needed a sober friend.

It was just a matter of time before they started studying us and our “friends”.

I just learned this and it makes me so sad.  Because, among the 10 million, he really didn’t have any.

Forget friends.  This girl needs parents.

Even a fashion icon could use a session with Jules.

It may be sappy, but it’s true.

So, friends, what’s up today?

Music: ‘Good Bye Pork Pie Hat’, byt a great late Mingus band in 1975, and yet all are gone now:

Complexity continues to bedevil us all:

More on Ed’s new bud, or the Alvin Green saga continues:

“COLUMBIA, S.C. — An unemployed military veteran will face no state charges over the $10,440 filing fee for his successful bid to win South Carolina’s Democratic nomination to run for U.S. Senate, the state’s top police official said Friday.”

No word on what Crew & others might think of all this, but that’s one very lucky streak. This though may be clearly a new way of ‘counter recruitment’ wherein you comb the jails of the applicable venue for an appropriate needy/desperate subject charged with a flagrant morals violation of some sort, and make an offer or a suggestion and let the wonders & fun begin. But perhaps the ‘payoff’ come only after the election, which may indeed skirt several applicable laws perhaps. Time will tell. JMP

I don’t understand this. Fort supposedly took sides on an issue that agreed with some of his constituents, and you want to criticize him for it?

Fort lost my support with some bullshit he was part of involving a client of mine. It was suggested to me that he was supporting said bullshit because he knew he was getting primaried and was shoring up his support within certain communities, but it was still ridiculous bullshit. I wish I could tell the story here (ethical obligations dictate otherwise).

All I can say is I will not shed a tear if he loses in the primary.

Excellent CL article about Fort vs. Balch. The comments are as informative as the article.

Re:the child in serious stripper heels and bustier, her stylist needs to be fired-not because it’s an awful get up, which it is, but because they over did it.

The heels, and the bustier but not the trashy skirt.. the trashy skirt/garter and the heels, but not the bustier… see what I mean. Elimination of just one of them would have made it simply tacky- now it’s a full on DFCS investigation.

When you factor in media buys already placed and General Election contributions disallowed, Hodges real “on hand” number is closer to $20k.

Seriously, Melb? I was hoping this to be a Hodges/Teilhet-free thread.

Hodges outraised all his opponents!! I think that is good news to talk about! Almost $268,000 this quarter and over $800,000 for the entire race.

Fuck. All that does is make me want to delete my Facebook account.
