What Senate Race?

I just watched the gubernatorial debates. Not that the two hours were anything other than completely rivioting, but I’m stuck on the responses of the Democrats to the question about which Republican office-holder they most admired, Both Baker and Poythress pick Sen. Johnny Isakson. Maybe they both missed the bulletin that their colleague, Mike Thurmond, gave up his office as Labor Commissioner to run against Isakson? They called him visionary, bipartisan. (Isakson, not Thurmond, to be clear.) Boy, if they managed to get the Democratic nod, I wonder what songs everyone would sing on the bus. Clearly, they would not be singing from the same sheet of music.

And, before Baker and Poythress go about singing Johnny’s praises, they might want to ask Elena Kagan how she’s feeling about his “visionary leadership.”

And we wonder why we can’t win elections.

They would probably have an easier time remembering that we’re challenging Isakson if the annointed Democratic candidate would actually get out there and campaign.

Can’t you see the Isakson ads – quoting Dems on how great he is for Georgia. UGH!

I’d say US Grant too, but few would understand that & it might take longer to explain. JMP

As John Adams famously said, “it is marvelous how political plants grow in the shade”

Yep. Silly, bone headed response. You always pick the deceased ones on this! The late Paul Coverdell perhaps… memories grow dim the more distance we get from their service. Warren Harding for 50 Alex. JMP

Those bus rides won’t be the same without Tommy Irvin.
