Tonight! New Leaders Council Awards Event

For the past few months a group of dynamic young people have been working together with community members and leaders to hone their skills and make connections that will allow them to enhance their leadership abilities.

Tonight the Atlanta Chapter of the New Leadership Council celebrates the accomplishments of two of their members,  Amani Channel, Community Manager at Public Broadcasting Atlanta and Founder of Visual Eye Media, and Doug Shipman, Executive Director of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, who have been named to the  40 Under 40 list by The  New Leaders Council national organization.

It’s just $20.  Guests include Atlanta City Council President Caesar Mitchell and Georgia State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan.

The mission of the New Leaders Council (NLC) is to train and support the next generation of progressive “political entrepreneurs” – those who are leading industries, setting trends, and building institutions that support robust civic and political life in a global America. The Atlanta chapter of the New Leaders Council Institute is comprised of young professionals from a variety of fields, including education, law, and policy. The Fellows are selected to participate in a series of trainings design to enhance their leadership abilities as progressive political entrepreneurs. Upon completion the fellows will join an extensive network of alumni and supporters.
