And this just in, via Youtube, the response from Whitney Avalon as of 9/3 is here:

“There are two sides to every story, and after having Cee Lo Green’s catchy anti-golddigger single “FUCK YOU!” stuck in my head for a week, I wanted to pretend to respond to the song’s allegations from the woman’s perspective. Needless to say, in the spirit of the original, it contains explicit language.”

Perhaps not as funny, who knows? But back to the ‘call & response’ songs of yore, way back. JMP

Song’s getting plenty of air time on NPR’s ATC right before the 5PM mark today. Let’s hope the Eds make it through security with friends like these: http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=11463664

Love this song. Though at the first, I thought, “Maybe if he was a little bit taller, a baller..” but then I realized I was thinking of Skee-Lo.

True that. Thinking on it further, this is just for the folks who’d want to be unwelcoming out there: Dizzy Gillespie’s ‘Manteca’ Theme: (The ‘Remix’): All you’ve got to listen to is the 1st 50 seconds or so…

The better Dizzy ‘old standard’ w/ a great clean instrumental version:

Dizzy’s Cuban version w/ Arturo Sandoval down in Cuba:

Finally Joe Cuba’s El Pito’s hit with using Dizzy’s same chant for a central theme:

I’m betting few have ever heard it. JMP

It’s amazing really. Considering all of our woes in the realm of education and transportation and housing and everything else in between it seems, our booming music industry has been dominant. Four of the top 20 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and seven of the top 20 songs on the hip-hop/R&B charts are Atlanta artists. Hell, even Justin Bieber is an ATLien now.

With that said, I figured I’d go ahead and link up “F*** You”‘s de facto b-side, “Georgia”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3qCK88aRJk
