Quote of the Day

I could write for days about the complete and utter failure that is America’s “War on Drugs,” but I don’t have that kind of time. Instead, I’ll offer a short quote from Colorado’s Republican Attorney General (courtesy of Catherine):

“I wouldn’t support legalization of marijuana, but I would prefer legalization to the hypocrisy we’re in now.”

A-fuckin’-men. Speaking from experience, it’s alcohol and harder drugs that cause people to commit the types of crime and insanity that the public is often in fear of. In addition, the legalization of marijuana would stem a lot of the drug cartel violence.

The Obama Administration’s defense of keeping marijuana illegal amounts to sticking their head in the sand.

“Keeping drugs illegal reduces their availability and lessens willingness to use them.”

Does Obama seriously believe that line of bullshit?

I would like it if I weren’t so cynical, but… it is mid-terms.

I remember it from the Byrds, but I think it’s actually a Bible passage:

    To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under [the Sun]

It may have lessened his willingness to use them . . . just not enough to actually render him unwilling to use them.
