Wearing the Green

To say,”welcome, come in, have a seat and a sip or two of our sweet tea,” I’ll be wearing my green jacket to the DPG convention on Saturday. I want all the Republican and Independent women who once supported Karen Handel, the strongest Republican candidate for Governor, to know that the welcome mat is out.  In Roy Barnes, we have a candidate for governor who values and supports women who are leaders. Plus, we have three great women who are running for statewide office, Carol Porter, Georganna Sinkfield and Mary Squires. That’s before we even start talking about all the great women running for the House and Senate!

So, I’m extending a hand – we may not agree on every issue, and that’s okay by me. You don’t have to be a Democrat to support these great candidates, and you sure don’t have to be a Democrat to be done with the good ‘ol boy system and ready to see Georgia work again.  To paraphrase Gov. Barnes, “We want you. We need you. We gotta have you.” So, I hope you’ll come in, take a look around. We’ll keep the lights on and the tea cold.

Excellent post. I hope Republican women of Georgia vote for policies and respect over party. Our ticket is amazingly diverse.
