Turmoil at Atlanta Board of Education

And they can’t even do their turmoil correct.

According to the story (you’ll have to listen to the audio), former Chair LaChandra Butler Burks says the voting was done improperly. She is asking ABE’s General Counsel for a ruling while a letter to General Baker was also written asking for clarification. It is unclear whose opinion will be accepted. Bold prediction: whichever interpretation backs one party will be accepted. But only by one party.

One wonders of course, how much of an impact this will have on APS.

For some reason, school board politics always seems really bizarre to me. I think part of it is that there is such fierce competition to look after kids (and yes control a multi-million dollar budget). Perhaps that it is also such a strange position to have filled by elected officials has something to do with it.

Rose Scott is the worst radio presenter ever.
