Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…

Georgia’s average SAT scores continue to drop despite sweeping state changes in core curriculum designed to expose more students to rigorous work.

The release of SAT scores Monday found a handful of Georgia schools soaring. But collectively the state’s schools landed once again at the bottom of the heap at 48th out of 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Times have changed when a 1509 on the SAT becomes “bad”.

Of course, you know, we’ll have to wait until the class of 2012 takes the test before we’ll know if the curriculum is working. And State School Super Brad Bryant says another issue is how many Georgia HS students take the SAT. Now I understand statistics but saying “having Georgia students take the SAT is dragging us down” isn’t really a good explanation.
