Political Mailers

The Republican Party is smart. My husband voted in this Republican primary this year, so unlike previous years, we’ve received an onslaught of Republican political mailers addressed to “The JenBHusband Family.” The use of “family” is smart because it’s not just addressed to him, but the entire family and I can feel included in receiving these bs mailers. You know who’s not smart? Joe Martin. Why is his mailer addressed to my husband and not me? At least I voted in the Democratic primary and runoff. Isn’t the number one rule in elections, secure the base?

That’s because your LS is part of a legit school.

Related story. My husband and I went to the same undergrad college and law school. Undergrad sends us two separate alumni magazines. Law school was doing that, but finally figured it out and sends us one magazine with both names. WIN.

Jim Martin sends two (or more) mailers to our house every go-round. Isn’t there a way to weed out duplicate addresses with database management software? Seems like it would save a lot of money.

Well, that’s because John Barrow is a duplicitous asshole. The guy wrapped his arm around Obama in 2008 to keep from losing to a black primary challenger then goes and votes against Obama’s agenda once re-elected.

Trust me, it’s hard to separate out universes when doing such large-scope mailers. Still funny, though.

My dad, a Democrat, voted in the 2008 primary for John McCain. He did that because he was afraid of Mike Huckabee winning the state primary and perhaps the general, so he voted for McCain…

Flash foward to 2010. He gets a mailer from Rep. John Barrow bashing Pelosi, national dems, and bragging about his tough stance on health reform.

My mom, who has always voted Democrat, gets a mailer a week later from Barrow featuring ntohing but pictures of Obama, with messages about how Barrow stood with the president agianst republicans and blah blah blah….

Not that I don’t understand the logic, but talk about sending conflicting messages to the same household!
