Bah Humbug

Business tax cuts key for Deal | Athens Banner-Herald:
Deal’s wide-ranging speech, one of his first since winning the Nov. 2 election, laid out a philosophy of small government but was short on specifics. He acknowledged as much in a joke.

I sort of had the feeling like maybe one of those department store Santa Clauses that had the great big sack on his back, and all the children were clamoring to see what was in the bag,” he said. “I’m not going to tell you. I don’t want to spoil your Christmas.”

Unfortunately, Georgia already knows what’s in your bag. Big lumps of coal.

Its not really about campaign donations and lobbyists, you know. Deal cannot say, I am going to keep doing what Perdue did, he has to do more and there isn’t much room there.

Isn’t what Deal (and the Republican majority) are saying is that business deserves a zero income tax as well as tax incentives? Aren’t they talking about a negative income tax for corporations? Aren’t they telling us that we, the people, aren’t as important as their darling businesses who pay for their campaigns? Shouldn’t there be a law against that kind of discrimination?

And shouldn’t the corporations (and their lobbyists) be prohibited from involvement in government, if they don’t pay a penny in taxes? It seems they want not only all the money, but all of the power.
