Some guy named Newt is hoping to “win the future” by returning to the past.  Marriage is so sacred to Newt, that he has done it three times!  What a guy.

Jim Galloway talks about why Stacy Abrams is playing nice with the Governor on HOPE.

There is a strategy in boxing and other martial arts that says if a blow can’t be avoided, the next best tactic is to step into it – and absorb the assault before it can achieve its full momentum.

Abrams argues that this is what the situation called for. “A bill is going to pass. I thought it best that we have a seat at the table,” the Atlanta lawyer, who first came to the Legislature in 2007, said in an interview. “This is a Democratic program.”

Ireland had 70% turn out for its elections and Fianna Fáil have suffered their biggest election defeat in the history of the Republic.  Fine Gael has 76 seats, Labour will take 36, Fianna Fáil will get 25, Sinn Féin will be 12, Independents will win 13, the United Left Alliance will take four and the Green Party will lose all six of their seats.  Fianna Fáil and the Green Party had been in coalition but the recent economy collapse and scandals have led to their undoing.  One thing I’ve always liked about Parliament systems is the ability to call for quick elections.

The UN Security Council voted 15-0 to slap some sanctions on Libya, no word yet on if Sarah Palin thinks this is a good thing or a bad thing, or if she’s too busy trying to find some excuse to go to New Hampshire…  of course, she may be worried about running into these people while she’s there.

The earth quake in New Zealand has taken 145 lives, with another 200 unaccounted for.  Approximately one-third of the buildings in Christchurch will have to be leveled due to damage.

If you thought the e-mails you received from people running for DPG offices was bad, just be glad you’re not on the receiving end of these bad boys.

These guys are with Nancy Reagan, just say no.

    It. Never. Goes. Away.

Trade unionism is pretty clearly supported in the Catechism.

Her seat at the table is one of permanent minority status, where they’ll never be able to create political pain for Deal and actually force real positive changes to legislation, instead ending up with stuff that guts the needs of the poor and middle class only slightly less.

No other Dem Party in the country would behave so cravenly in this situation.

The Catholic Bishops come out in support of the Unions in WI.

Oh yes, I used “come out” on purpose, if only.

I remember the Social Justice Catholic Church. They are very cool when it happens.
